Carbs and Fiber in Cream of Chicken Soup Food Item: Cream of chicken soup,
canned, made w/equal volume water Cream of Chicken Soup and CarbsSoup (like Cream of Chicken Soup) can be high in carbohydrates, but it needn't be! Commercial soup typically is only high-carb when fillers (eg. flour), or other fillers or bulking agents (eg. gums), or sugars are added. Low carb commercial soups include all consommes, gazpacho and other vegetable soups. Higher carb soups or broths are not recommended by most low carb diets and are typically high in sodium. However, homemade soup, thickened with natural foods like beans, lentils or garbanzo beans (chick peas) are both nutritious and low in calories, and perfectly permissable in the later phases of most low-carb eating plans. For more details about carbs in soup, see below. Note: Nutritional values for soup and broth can vary, so the above carbohydrate and dietary fiber details for Cream of Chicken Soup are intended as a guideline only. |
